Information on Searching for, Exporting, and Importing WSX Files for OpenNap on WinMX

This page is to provide folks with a bit more information on Searching/Getting, Importing (using WSX file), Exporting (create WSX file).

There are mainly two ways to find WSX files:

To find .WSX files, click the Networks tab and then click the 'OpenNap Protocol Networks' tab that appears in the window. Then click the 'Find WSX'  button. Then you will be taken to the following window.

You will get some results, download the ones you want.

Alternatively, you can search for your own preferred servers as below. Try to keep the terms as general as possible, so that there are more hits. Use refined terms only if the number of results are too many.

The second method to find servers is through websites. The WinMX World Archive has many active servers, simply right click the file and choose 'Save Link As'.  You can get them from here:

WinMXWorld Archive - WSX folder

You can also get a workimg server list from here: . You can use napmx to eitehr get a list directly or update your server list in WinMX directly.

Now that your servers are downloaded, you need to load them so that you can connect to them.
In the OpenNap Protocol window, Next to the Find WSX button, there's a 'Import WSX' Button.
Click on that and navigate to the folder where you have stored your downloaded server files.
Select them and click open. You'll then see many servers in the OpenNap Protocol screen.
Select some servers and click the 'Connect Button'.

The same way that you Imported servers, you Export them. This function is mainly used to create custom lists of OpenNap servers. You must select the servers that you want to add and then click the 'Export WSX' button next to the Import WSX button and navigate to the folder where you want to save the files. Give the file a name and save the servers.  Now you can share the same server lists you have with friends.

There is also now a thread dedicated on the forum to posting Currently Working OpenNap Servers.
Information provided by SamSeeSam and Smokerillo, many thanks for their hard work on this.
