MP3 Metadata Editors
Many of you may have obtained MP3 files that upon closer inspection are from a different source than the one the title claims or have been named incorrectly, or even worse, the title has someones hash/name tag that appears in your media player each time you play the file. This can be both annoying as well as making your files look rather untidy.
These problems can be easily solved in most cases by renaming the titles of the files properly or to a format of your choosing however sometimes the information seems to appear from no-where, this is because MP3 Files can support the inclusion of hidden MetaData, this consists of data such as playtime, bitrate artist and much other helpful information.
Helpfully for us "ordinary" folks, special tools exist that allow us to view and then edit, change or remove this normally hidden metadata and to you get started I have created some help guides to using the free tools available for the job, below you will find a list of the best free or open source product and where to find them as well as a basic
